Car policy configuration with Headlight
Within the Car Budgets menu, click “Unbundled Services.”
We can add unbundled services for insurance or other services.
The fixed or calculated monthly amounts in these unbundled services will be used in TCO calculations.
Unbundled Insurance Policy
Assume we want to add a cost for insurance in the TCO calculations and configure that as an unbundled service.
Give the unbundled service a suitable name.
An unbundled service can consist of multiple components — for example, insurance may include Omnium, third-party liability, legal assistance, and more.
Let’s start with the Omnium component.
Next, configure a formula for how to calculate this component.
Ask your insurance provider for the correct formula if you’re unsure.
Assume the Omnium calculation is as follows:
2% of the total catalog value per year, including 27.16% tax.
Steps:
- Select catalogue value so the formula uses the correct value.
- Take 2%, divide by 12 (× 0.083333) for a monthly amount, and apply a 27.16% tax rate.
✅ Confirm numeric inputs by pressing Enter after typing.
We can now add another insurance component, such as Third-party liability.
Assume this has a fixed monthly cost of €25, excluding a 25% tax rate.
Add additional insurance components in the same way.
✅ When done, save the unbundled service.
Other Unbundled Services
Now, we’ll add an unbundled service to include the charging pole cost in TCO calculations.
- Change the unbundled service type to “Other.”
- Give the service a clear name (e.g., “Charging Station”).
- Enter a monthly cost of €45 to include in the calculation.
- ✅ Save the service.
🎉 Look at that!
We’ve now configured two unbundled services in Headlight — one for Insurance and one for Charging Station.
In the next video, you’ll learn how to link these unbundled services to your budget policy.
