Let&#8217;s define our Car Policy. <em>Note that there are many other alternatives possible!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Car Policy<\/em>: drivers can select a vehicle from the list of pre-configured vehicles. They can add additional options to the vehicle configuration (e.g. a tow bar), but at their own expense: the options have to be paid in full with their gross wage.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Enter a descriptive name for your new car budget policy, <em>then follow the steps to complete the basic setup.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Benefit Budget<\/strong> in the <em>Budget type<\/em> menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a <strong>lease service package<\/strong> in the next drop down menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <em>Unbundled Car Insurance Policy<\/em> dropdown to <strong>select<\/strong> a relevant <strong>insurance policy<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For most clients using a car list-based methodology, leave the <em>Additional Unbundled Services<\/em> field blank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <em>Related Quote Set<\/em> field, leave the drop down blank.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p><strong><em>Why don&#8217;t we link a bulk quote in the Related Quote Set field for car lists?<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the car policy we&#8217;ll configure in this scenario, the catalog option price of the additional options will be charged. Therefore, our implementation does not require lease amounts for calculating the cost, and we do not need to link a bulk quote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Setting Up Budget Policy details &amp; Budget Components<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Set a clear budget name to organize and identify this policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue setup by adding <strong>Mileage<\/strong> and <strong>Duration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, we can set up the <strong>Budget Components<\/strong>, including (TCO) calculation method, settings and contribution type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>This is an <strong>important step<\/strong> for car list-based ordering methodologies. Replace the default budget component (<em>Total Cost After tax<\/em>) with a calculation method based on option price.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In the dropdown, deselect <em>Total Cost After tax<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can choose from available calculation methods offered by Headlight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this scenario, select <strong>Options catalog value<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click outside the dropdown to close it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cOptions catalog value\u201d now appears in the <em>Budget Component selection<\/em> field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure Maximum Contribution and Contribution Type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>As mentioned, employees are allowed to add additional options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, we might want to cap the maximum personal contribution. If a single limit <em>applies for all car policy levels<\/em>, we can set the maximum employee contribution for the car budget policy here.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Set the maximum employee contribution for the car budget policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Lump sum gross<\/strong> for the policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>As mentioned, according to our car policy, the additional options can be paid with a gross wage budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, we&#8217;ll select &#8220;Lump sum gross&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure Budget Levels and Contributions per Level<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>For car list-based policies, skip the <em>Limit per budget level<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>The budget limit normally contains the budget that is made available to employees for configuring a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In car list methods, (cfr delta-budget setting below), it indicates the <strong>additional budget<\/strong> provided by the employer that employees have to add options on top of the pre-configured vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As options are at the expense of the employee: this should be \u20ac0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Add another budget level to support multiple employee groups. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can add as many levels as are necessary in your Car Policy. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the <em>Limit per budget level<\/em> for each budget level you create. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For each budget level, select which employee types this budget level applies to. Open the <em>Employee types<\/em> drop down, and select your company&#8217;s employee types that match this budget level. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enable the Delta Budget Option<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is another <strong>important step<\/strong> for car list-based ordering methodologies: mark the <strong>Delta budget<\/strong> checkbox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>As mentioned earlier, our car policy configures how <em>additional options<\/em> on top of the pre-configured vehicles should be treated. Therefore, it is a <strong>delta-budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Headlight, you can click the information icon for more about the Delta budget option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the tooltip explains: choose a delta budget if drivers receive a car from the list with preselected options. Any additional options are calculated in the driver contribution according to the policy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save Your Newly Created Budget Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Save the policy configuration by clicking <strong>SAVE<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>CONFIRM<\/strong> to finalize your new car budget policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Your newly created Car Budget Policy has been added to the list. Multiple policies can be added, including inactive ones.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reviewing and Activating Your Budget Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before a budget policy can be used by drivers, it must be activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The orange label indicates that the new policy is still <em>inactive.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the row to go to the Car Budget Policy page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage activation with the activation button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>CONFIRM<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A green dialog confirms the change was made correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save and confirm before closing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return to the Benefit Budgets overview via the breadcrumb link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The status now shows <em>active.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>You\u2019ve now completed the training to create a New Car Budget Policy and Set Budget Levels.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learn how to create a car budget policy for car list-based ordering methodologies.
