Learn how to translate an entire Workflow — including all messages, titles, and descriptions — into another language in just a few clicks.
Select a Workflow
Use this method with a finished Workflow.
You can translate the complete set of steps, messages, and titles all at once.
- Select the Workflow you want to translate.
- At the top of the screen, click the Translation icon to begin.
Tip: Ensure your Workflow is finalized and reviewed in the default language before translating. You can use Test Mode to verify it.
Trigger and Set Up the Translation
- Click the Translate Workflow icon.
- In the dialog window, choose an action:
- Add or update translations — create a new translation or update an existing one.
- Remove all translations — delete all translations except the default language.
- Click the Language dropdown to select your target language (e.g., French).
- Optional settings:
- Overwrite existing translations to replace older versions.
- Set the selected language as default (moves the original text into its own tab).
- Translate Workflow titles and descriptions to include step names and metadata.
- Once configured, click TRANSLATE to launch the process.
Tip: Leave “Overwrite existing translations” unchecked if you’ve manually edited previous translations.
Run the Translation
- After clicking TRANSLATE, Headlight starts the process automatically.
- Keep your browser tab open during translation.
- The progress visualization shows completion status.
- If you selected the titles and descriptions option, the left panel will update with translated step names.
Review the Translations
- Locate Forms, Notify, or Approval steps — these contain messages.
- In the right panel, click the language icon to open the multilingual editor.
- Switch between the default and translated tabs (e.g., EN → FR) to compare.
- Review both message titles and message bodies for accuracy.
- Click OK after reviewing each translation.
- Continue this process for all Workflow steps.
Remember to save your Workflow after making any edits.
