In the Headlight platform, a vehicle that is marked as a pool car is a car that can be booked for short-term driver assignments. The vehicle is then not permanently assigned to an employee. Thus, when a pool car is assigned to someone, it remains a pool car unless the assignment is permanent, meaning that it is expected to last until the end of the leasing contract.
This is in contract with a “parked” car. Parked cars in Headlight reflect the vehicles that have an active contract, but currently have no permanent driver assigned, and are not marked as pool car. These vehicles are thus assumed to be on the company parking lot, available for permanent assignment to a new driver.
