Overview
The Broadcast feature in Headlight allows you to send personalized emails to employees, making it easy to communicate critical updates. It is particularly useful for fleet managers or administrators to send out service reminders, policy updates, or general announcements. Common use cases include notifying drivers about upcoming maintenance, such as placing winter tires on vehicles, or announcing new policies related to fleet operations.

How to Use the Broadcast Feature
Step 1: Access the Broadcast Feature
- From the main dashboard, go to the Broadcast tab.
- Select Templates to either create a new broadcast message or manage existing templates.
Step 2: Create or Edit a Broadcast Template
- To create a new template:
- Click + in the top right corner.
- Name your template and enter a subject.
- Compose your message, adding placeholders (e.g.,
{{driver.full_name}},{{car.make}}) to personalize it. - Attach any relevant documents if needed.
- Preview the message in Desktop or Mobile View. You can preview the message as it would appear to a specific driver.
- Save the template.
Step 3: Select Your Audience
- After saving your template, choose the audience for the broadcast.
- Use the checkboxes to select employees and vehicles from the table. Employees with multiple vehicles will have multiple entries.
- Filter the list by vehicle type, supplier, or other criteria as needed.
- Once your audience is selected, click Send Template.
Step 4: Schedule the Broadcast
- After selecting your audience, you can choose to schedule the broadcast for a later time.
- Select the date and time, or send the broadcast immediately by skipping the scheduling option.
- Click Schedule to confirm.

- Seasonal Tire Change Notifications: Notify drivers when it’s time to switch to winter or summer tires.
- Maintenance Reminders: Send reminders for upcoming vehicle service or inspections.
- Policy Updates: Inform employees about changes to company car policies or fleet management rules.
