Translating Articles in the Knowledge Base

Learn how to translate your fleet guides and Knowledge Base content for drivers in multiple languages.


1. Translate Section by Section

Enter Editing Mode

  1. Click the Pencil icon (top right) to enable editing mode.
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to the item you want to translate.
  3. Open the multilingual editor by clicking the language icon.

Add and Generate Translations

  1. Click Add Language.
  2. Choose a target language (e.g., French).
  3. Click Generate Translation to auto-translate.
  4. Review and edit the translation if needed.
  5. Click OK to confirm.

✅ Repeat these steps to add more languages, such as Dutch or German.

Translating Descriptions

  • Click the language icon in the description field.
  • Add a language and generate its translation.
  • Click OK, then SAVE all edits before closing editing mode.

Translating Articles

  • The same multilingual editor is available for article titles, sections, and contents.
  • After editing, SAVE and click the Pencil icon to exit editing mode.

2. Translate the Whole Knowledge Base

  1. From any Knowledge Base page, click the Language icon (top right).
  2. Review the translation options and notes:
  • Existing translations will be skipped.
  1. Choose your target language (e.g., French).
  2. Click TRANSLATE to schedule automatic translation.

💡 You can repeat this from the Knowledge Base main page — Headlight will translate all items not yet translated.


3. Review Languages as Fleet Manager

  1. After translations are added, language buttons appear at the top right.
  2. Click DEFAULT to view the original language.
  3. Select another available language to preview its translation.
  4. The selected language applies to the entire Knowledge Base view.

🛈 Drivers automatically see the language selected at their login; these buttons are only visible to admins.
